Fuzzy brain

The brain screws up sometimes, it’s a fact of life. I can remember a few times in my life when I’d see one object, then another, and for a brief moment the two objects would overlap slightly. For instance, I can recall seeing a blue pickup on the freeway with a red VW Beetle right behind it. For a moment I thought that I’d seen a red truck, but when glancing back I saw that the truck was indeed blue. From what I know, this is caused by an error during the encoding of visual information into short-term memory, and I just experienced another instance of it.

I woke up around 9:30 and headed to the toilet for the requisite morning ritual that we’re all familiar with. In my dazed and groggy state, my focus (such as it was) wandered lazily over to the sink where it sat for a few seconds. Suddenly I was overcome with a sense of panic and confusion. My brain had told me that I was peeing in the sink.

*sigh*

You pinged us to tell us that you peed in the sink this morning? I really expect much more from even your fuzzy brain. :-)

Did your brain insert Toby’s head in the sink or the toilet?
